Little Explorer & Me: Honeybees
August 31, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
We’ve changed the name! Since we know that Daddies, Grandparents, and Caretakers like to join the fun too, our early childhood program, previously known as Mommy & Me, is now called Little Explorer & Me!
Visit the North Museum on August 31 with your Little Explorer and get the buzz buzz buzz about Bees!
At each Little Explorer & Me, enjoy free coffee and meet other Lancaster parents (Moms, Dads, Grandparents, and Caretakers). Bring your little ones, 5 and under, to the Explore Nature Gallery at the North Museum for a hands-on introduction to science and nature.
August’s program is all about the honeybee. The only insect that provides food for humans is a fascinating subject to study for your budding scientist. The North Museum’s Observation Hive lets your child get an up-close view of honeybees at work and a new appreciation for the hard workers that make sure our crops are pollinated.
Activities Planned Include:
• Be a Bee: Get moving to transfer pollen from one flower to another
• Discover how a honeybee sees
• Create your own honeybee stripe pattern
• Explore items from the Museum collections including real honeycomb, bees, and wasps
This is a drop-in program and no preregistration is required.
