“(trans)formations: Studies in Form and Composition by Bill Hutson”
September 10, 2015 - March 11, 2016
The Phillips Museum of Art is pleased to present this exhibition featuring William R. Hutson, the Jennie Brown Cook and Betsy Hess Cook Distinguished Artist-in-Residence at Franklin & Marshall College. Hutson, a world traveler, frequently absorbed his surroundings and infused them into his work, whose signature style combines hard-edged forms with gestural brushstrokes. This exhibition features a portion of Hutson’s work driven by his varied use of geometric and organic forms, combined and juxtaposed, and indicative of his artistic processes and his environmental influences. (trans)formations suggests the transforming medium of Hutson’s work .
Opening Reception: September 17, 5pm, The Dana Gallery
