Tuesday, December 27th

K’nex- A- Pult
(9:00am-12:00pm) ages 6-13 only
Whether we are launching those leftover holiday cookies or candies… or other splatting items… Let’s see if you can meet the engineering challenges at hand. Can you build a machine that will toss a cookie the longest distance? How about projecting a piece of candy through into a hanging stocking… And no launch will ever be the same unless you can take some holiday slime and give Rudolf a Red nose…

May the Force Be With You
(1:00pm-4:00pm) ages 6-13 only
Try to harness your inner force by becoming an electromagnet. Test your ability to attract and move metal objects. Dive fingers first into a magnetic field, to predict the motion of this invisible force field. Harness the lighting power of a plasma ball and Tesla coil just to experience their colorful explosion.

Wednesday, December 28th

Candy Science
(9:00am-12:00pm) ages 6-13 only
Use your taste buds, Can you tell an Acid from a Base? Use your nose, Can you tell one candy flavor from another without using your eyes. Become a candy scientist and determine what makes some candies sour and others bitter. While seeing the impact your eyes have on your smell.

Candy and Cookie Chemistry
(1:00pm-4:00pm) ages 6-13 only
Try your hand at the art of candy, whether it’s dipping pretzels and bananas into meltly delicious chocolate or candy molding. See if you have the cookie skills to make yummy cookies without an oven that will tantalize your taste buds.

Thursday, December 29th

The Power of Logic and the Lego Mind storms
(9:00am-12:00pm) ages 6-13 only
Try your mind on a maze of logic. Can you give directions to a robot to complete a task? First try the art of programming with our command cards and a partner… then move to the Lego Mind Storms EV3 and try some new challenges.

The Great Science Factory Mystery
(1:00pm-4:00pm) ages 6-13 only
Can you figure out who stole the cookies from Mr. Bob’s Cookie jar? Follow the trail of crumbs, clues and prints to determine the cookie monster here at the Lancaster Science Factory… You might even catch them with their hands on the cookies…

Friday, December 30th

Egg -travaganza
(9:00am-12:00pm) ages 6-13 only
Walk on a sidewalk of eggs! Take a brief nap of a soft bed of eggs! And create a parachute for an egg-passenger! Can you save your egg from becoming scrambled? Join in the egg exciting egg-ventures that are waiting for you.

Thinking in 3D
(1:00pm-4:00pm) ages 6-13 only
Try your hand at building in 3Dimension. Use 2D pictures to create objects in 3 dimensions. Use simple wooden planks to duplicate the balance, proportion, composition and geometry of anything from a park bench to sky scraper.

The cost for non-members is $30 per child per 3-hour camp.
