Learn German Papercutting with the Ephrata Cloister Student Historians
April 9, 2015 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Scherenschnitte, which means “scissor cuts” in German, is the art of papercutting. The art of cutting intricate designs into paper has a long history and has appeared in many different cultures – including the Pennsylvania German community. For this program the Cloister’s Student Historians will help tweens create their own Scherenschnitte work. Artwork created during the program will be eligible to be displayed during the Cloister Student Art Show at the Ephrata Public Library. Ages 10-12.
