‘Make It Yourself’ Workshop Series

Lancaster Science Factory

Join us for a series of workshops where children connect fun, hands-on projects to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) Local STEM professionals provide “real world” perspective and mentoring.

Program Details and Pricing

  • Programs are for kids in grades 3 – 8.
  • Workshop cost per child: FREE
  • Regular Science Factory rates apply: Members are FREE, All Visitors are $8.50.
  • Program sessions are Sundays, from 2 – 3:30 pm.
  • Parents are welcome to join the workshop at no cost.
  • Reserve online or at the Science Factory in advance, space is limited.
  • Events are subject to change without notice.

Sunday the 18th
Zinc, Brass, and Gold- Oh My!
Description: Join us for shockingly simple and fun experiments with metals and alloys!

Clink! Pegboard Game
Description: Build a pegboard inspired by the famous Plinko game! Hypothesize, test, and observe where the marble goes.

Description: Our information technology expert will explain the ins and outs of the Internet through stimulating hands-on exercises!

The Simplest Hydraulics
Description: Learn the basics of this fascinating technology by building machines with little more than plastic syringes and popsicle sticks.

Description: Interested in using the sun for energy? Join us to build a model of solar panel technology then find out how much energy you’ve produced!

Description: Think like a structural engineer and learn how to build sturdy bridges out of light-weight everyday materials!
