River Relations: A Beholder’s Share of the Columbia River Dams Exhibition

Nick Conbere and John Holmgren collaborate to examine relationships among hydroelectric dams and their surrounding environments. Their work focuses on the Columbia River dams in Washington and British Columbia even as it attempts to comprehend how human constructions affect the character and ecology of natural landscapes over time.
Nick Conbere is this year’s Conrad Nelson Lecturer at Franklin & Marshall College. He teaches at Emily Carr University. John Holmgren is Assistant Professor of Art at Franklin & Marshall College.
