The Pennsylvania Rifle
Rifle historian Paul Allison will discuss rifle manufacture in 19th century Pennsylvania. Rifle craftsmen, mostly Germanic in origin, brought European rifle technology here, and improved it to make accurate weapons, which led the westward expansion, Lewis and Clark’s success, and Jackson’s victory at New Orleans.
