Viewing the Immigrant Experience: Going Behind the Scenes in New York City

The itinerary includes some rare opportunities and behind the scenes experiences in New York City that you will not want to miss! Itinerary:
7:30 a.m. – Depart from the Historic Ephrata Cloister
10:40 a.m. – Depart Battery Park City for Ellis Island
12:00 p.m. – 90 minute Walking Tour of Ellis Island
Completed in 1909, the Ellis Island Hospital Complex consisted of a general hospital, a contagious disease hospital, an expansive green space and recreation areas. Left untouched for over 60 years, these buildings were opened to the public for the first time in October of 2014. On this tour you will walk the halls of these historic buildings and learn about the medical inspection process, the treatment of the sick and about those who cared for them.
1:45 p.m. – Depart Ellis Island for Battery Park City
2:00 p.m. – Travel by bus to the High Line
Free time for lunch at the Chelsea Market or other neighboring restaurants
4:00 p.m. – Tour of the High Line with Jordan Rogove

5:30 p.m. – Travel by bus to the Tenement Museum
6:00 – 9:00 p.m. – After-hours private tour of the Tenement Museum and Hors D’oeuvres reception
9:00 p.m. – Depart for the Historic Ephrata Cloister
11:30 p.m. – Arrive at the Historic Ephrata Cloister
