Lecture Series: “Charles Thomson” by Bruce Gill of Harriton House

CharlesThomson PortraitBruce Gill of Harriton House presents a lecture on Charles Thomson, an Irish-born patriot leader during the American Revolution and Secretary of the Continental Congress.

Gill is the Executive Director of Harriton House, the historic 18th century residence where Thomson lived, located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.  Gill opened Harriton House to the public in 1976 for the Bicentennial.  He has a Master’s degree in American Civilization from George Washington University and studied at the Smithsonian for two years as part of a cooperative program.  During Gill’s time at Harriton House, the museum has grown to include not only the 6-room historic house museum but also a livestock stable, an education and administrative center, and a blacksmith shop.

No reservations required. Seating is limited. This event will be held in the Rock Ford Barn.

Admission: $5 for non-members. Free for members of the Rock Ford Foundation.
